Parent and Children Courses (Kids and Teen Courses)

This course is specifically designed for families to immerse themselves in the Spanish language and culture. Parents can attend an intensive course and children attend courses specially designed for them: a Kids course for children aged 4-6 years and 7-11 years and a Teen course for young people between 12 and 15 years. While the Kids course is designed to teach the basics of the Spanish language (A1) the Teen courses are available in the levels A1, A2 and B1. Both courses are limited to a number of 8 students. In the case of only being 2-3 participants, we will merge both groups together, as long as the age and the language level of the children and adolescence are similar.
Children and teenagers learn Spanish by playing and using a specific methodology that includes games, songs, everyday situations, etc., all in order to make the study experience more enjoyable and motivating.

Parent and Children Courses (Kids and Teen Courses)

ACADEMIC LOAD AND SCHEDULE OF THE COURSES
The course consists of 20 weekly classes (45 minutes each), from Monday to Friday, plus sociocultural modules.
STARTING DATES

Classes begin every Monday, unless it is a public holiday.
On days of public holiday classes will not take place. However they will be made up during the week. If there happens to be two days of public holiday in one week, only one day will be recovered.

LENGTH
From 1 to 12 weeks
LEVEL TEST

Before starting the Spanish course, students must take a level test, both written and spoken, in order to assess their level and place them in the correct group. This test has no cost and it takes place outside the course schedules.

TEACHING MATERIALS

The intensive courses’ teaching materials are carefully prepared, updated and improved by our teaching staff. All learning resources are included in the price of the course.

TUTORING SERVICE

The school provides a tutor for you to discuss any queries that you have free of charge.

CERTIFICATE

At the end of the course, the students receive a certificate of participation stating the hours taken as well as the level reached.

If parents need an official certificate of their knowledge of Spanish, we recommend the DELE (Diploma on Spanish as a Foreign Language). These are official qualifications, granted by Cervantes Institute on behalf of Spain's Ministry for Education, that recognize levels of competence and command of the Spanish language.

In addition to this, Madrid’s Official Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the University of Alcalá de Henares, offers specialized certifications, for the Spanish language, in the field of economics, tourism and health sciences.

TIMING REDUCTIONS

With the aim of guaranteeing that each and every student is in the appropriate level and to avoid groups of students with differing levels of knowledge, the school reserves the right to implement the following changes to lesson times: for the intensive course, in the case that there is only one student in the group, the daily class will be reduced to two private sessions of 45 minutes each. In the case that there are only two students, the daily class will be reduced to three sessions of 45 minutes. The original price will be unaffected in both instances.

IMPORTANT: In the case that the parents had more lessons than their children, the school does not hold responsible for under age students outside the teaching lessons.

Those over 10 years old can stay in the rest room of computers under the responsibility of the parents.

For children under 10 years old, the school can offer an extension of the teaching lessons or a service of "nursery". You can check the conditions and the extra cost of these servicies via e-mail at info@costadevalencia.com

FREE-TIME ACTIVITIES

Apart from our Spanish language courses, we also offer up to four extra-curricular activities per week. Participating in these activities allows for students to put into practice the skills they have learnt in the classroom in an effortless and fun way. On the other hand, it is also a unique opportunity to get to know Valencia’s culture and people first-hand. We refer you to our updated program of free-time activities.

SOCIOCULTURALS MODULES

Sociocultural modules last approximately 5 hours a week. The topics addressed (festivals, Spanish politics, bull fighting, flamenco, gastronomy) put students in contact with a rich variety of aspects of Spanish and Valencian life.
