This course can be freely combined with the intensive course. It is aimed to students that need to learn the specific language of the tourism industry in Spain. It covers specific vocabulary and will put into practice typical situations found within the tourism sector. It will also include information about the most distinguished tourist regions of Spain: sites, festivals, gastronomy, etc.
The Spanish for Tourism Course consists of 10 weekly classes (45 minutes each) from Monday to Friday.
The schedule is usually between 13.45 and 16.00. However, this schedule may suffer slight modifications, depending on the season and the quantity of students at the school at the moment.
Spanish for Tourism Course begin every Monday, unless it is a public holiday.
On public holidays classes will not be held, however they will be made up throughout the week. If there happens to be two public holidays in one week, only one day will be made up for.
To guarantee a full profit of this course it is necessary that participants have, at least, a basic level (A2) in Spanish.
Before starting the Spanish course, students must take a level test, both written (multiple choice questions plus a little composition) and spoken, in order to assess their level and place them in the correct group.
This test has no cost and it always takes place outside the course schedules. If the student is already in Valencia, it may be taken on the previous week; if not, the test will take place the same day of the beginning of the course (usually at 9.00).
The Spanish for Tourism Course´ teaching materials (dossiers and complementary activity cards) are carefully prepared, updated and improved by our teaching staff.
All learning resources are included in the price of the course.
At the end of the course, the students receive a certificate of participation stating the hours taken as well as the level reached and the kind of course taken.
If you need an official certificate that accredits your knowledge of business Spanish, Madrid's Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the University of Alcalá de Henares, offers specialized qualifications in the fields of business, tourism and health sciences.
With the aim of guaranteeing that each and every student is in the appropriate level and to avoid groups of students with different levels of knowledge, the school reserves the right to implement the following changes to lesson times: in case that there is only one student, the daily class will be reduced to one lesson of 60 minutes. The original price will be unaffected.
