Costa de Valencia - Certificate Escuela ELE Socialmente Responsable
FEDELE, the Federation of Spanish as a Foreign Language Schools, has made available to its member schools a seal of quality called "Escuela ELE Socialmente Responsable" (Socially Responsible ELE School). The objectives pursued with this seal are to ensure that schools make a commitment to the environment, promote values and foster human rights, commit to safety and, in short, work and strive to become socially responsible schools. In order to obtain this seal, accredited and federated schools must present their Sustainability Plans, which must include the objectives and actions that the school is carrying out to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals.
After the presentation of our Plan de Sostenibilidad 2021 at the end of last year and after the relevant verifications, Costa de Valencia, Spanish language school obtained its quality seal: "Costa de Valencia, Escuela ELE Socialmente Responsable", thus becoming the second school at national level to obtain this recognition.
In April 2023 we presented our Plan de Sostenibilidad 2023, with several improvements.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ranging from the elimination of poverty, to the fight against climate change, education, women's equality, environmental protection and the design of our cities.
Costa de Valencia, Spanish language school, after an analysis of the main impacts, risks and opportunities - both positive and negative - derived from its business activities in social, economic and environmental matters, has chosen these 7 SDGs to implement the first improvements in its activity:
- 12 Responsible production and consumption
- 11 Sustainable cities and communities
- 7 Affordable and clean energy
- 6 Clean water and sanitation
- 5 Gender equality
- 4 Partnership actions
- 17 Quality education
To this end, we have established a series of goals, targets and actions to contribute to achieving the challenges of these SDGs, creating an individualised strategy for each of them and establishing deadlines for their implementation and evaluation.
Throughout the year we will be publishing on our social networks samples of the different activities we are carrying out in this area and, at the end of the year, we will update our Sustainability Plan to renew our Escuela ELE Socialmente Responsable Certificate.
