WE RESOLVE DOUBTS ABOUT THE UNEDASISS EXAMS
First of all, you should know that UNEDasiss is a service of the UNED (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia) created to manage the access and admission of foreign students to Spanish public universities, and even some private universities. It is responsible for carrying out Specific Competence Tests (PCE) for access.
Our advice is that, before applying, you should be clear about where you want to study, as each university may have different requirements. For example, in Galicia they only require you to take two subjects, in Madrid you have to take four plus the Modality criterion, and in Barcelona you have to take six subjects. We are going to focus on the University of Valencia, where you have to take four subjects of the PCE exams to obtain the maximum score.
How is the UNEDasiss accreditation done according to the origin of the baccalaureate?
We are often asked how many subjects you have to choose from when taking the PCE-UNEDasiss exams. The number depends on where you obtained your baccalaureate. In the following, we will explain the process for two particular cases:
Depending on the type of study you want to do (humanities, sciences, social sciences or arts) you will have to choose one subject or another:
What options do I have if I don't pass a PCE-UNEDasiss exam or don't reach the cut-off mark for the degree I want to enter?
This is one of the most frequent questions we receive. If you don't reach the cut-off mark or if you fail a PCE-UNEDasiss exam, you will be able to retake the subjects you need in the extraordinary exams. The transcript will be completed with the best marks obtained in both exams, that is, combining the marks from the ordinary and extraordinary exams. It should be noted that the marks obtained in an academic year will be valid for two years.
If you do not reach the cut-off mark with the grades obtained in the ordinary and extraordinary exams to gain access to university, we recommend that you take the PCE exams again to improve your final mark.
Do I need to know Spanish?
You need to have at least B1 Spanish. If you don't have it... don't worry! At our school we will prepare you to reach a sufficient level with our Spanish courses for foreigners. We also recommend you to take a preparatory Spanish course to continue improving your level and to avoid problems in the UNEDasiss exam.
How can we help you at Costa de Valencia, escuela de español?
We have a special course that prepares you for the official university entrance exams (UNEDasiss), with individual monitoring and work in small groups.
At our school we offer you help with the paperwork, both to register for the official exam and to obtain your student visa. For the latter, once the course fee has been paid, we issue a certificate in the student's name, stating the course being taken and the duration of the course. This certificate is necessary to obtain the visa.
