From the excitement of the Fiestas de Moros y Cristianos in Alcoy, to the thrilling Historical Recreation of the Battle of Almansa, to the awe-inspiring Maderada in Cofrentes, there is something for all of us. And guess what, this is an open invitation to all Spanish students at Costa de Valencia!
First on our list of events is the iconic Moors and Christians Festival in Alcoy. Imagine streets filled with colorful costumes, the sound of drums and bugles echoing in the air, and parades that transport you back in time. This festival, which takes place from April 21 to 24, is a true feast for the senses. In addition to being an impressive visual and auditory experience, it is a perfect opportunity to immerse ourselves in the history and culture of our region.
Next, we have the Historical Reenactment of the Battle of Almansa. This event, which takes place April 26-28, commemorates one of the most important clashes of the War of the Spanish Succession. What better way to learn about Spanish history than by witnessing an epic battle between troops?We will have the opportunity not only to witness this event, but also to immerse ourselves in the historical details surrounding it, thus enhancing our understanding of the Spanish language and culture.
Last, but definitely not least, is the impressive Maderada in Cofrentes. What is a Maderada, you ask? Well, it's an event in which huge logs of wood are transported down the Cabriel River in a display of skill and dexterity.This spectacle, which takes place on May 1, is a celebration of tradition and human ingenuity. For us, it is a unique opportunity to witness a tradition rooted in local history and to enrich our vocabulary with terms related to nature and the timber industry.
