This program is designed for all those students who would like to prepare an exams like the Abitur, Matura, etc. The program consists of an Intensive Spanish Course 20, aimed at improving the level of general linguistic competence, an essential requirement for passing a exam, and 10 hours per week of private lessons in which the different parts ans tasks of the tests will be worked on, focusing on the acquisition of strategies for overcoming them.
Preparation of Spanish Exams (Abitur, Matura, etc.)
The Preparation DELE 20+10 Program consists of an Intensive Spanish Course 20 and 10 hours of Private Lessons per week.
The Intensive Course 20 consists of 20 lessons of 50 minutes per week, from Monday to Friday. In addition to these lessons there are 5 hours of socio-cultural modules to be taken during the week. These courses generally take place in the morning (from 10.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.) or in the afternoon (from 4.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.), although this timetable may be slightly modified depending on the time of year and the amount of students.
The 10 hours of Private Lessons per week, 60 minute-long each, usually take place between 1.45p.m. and 3.45 p.m., although this timetable may be slightly modified depending on the time of year and the amount of students.
It is possible to begin the Exam Preparation Program on any Monday of the year (unless it is a public holiday) regardless of the student's level of knowledge.
Normally there are no classes on holidays, but they will be made up during the same week. Here you will find a summary of holidays and how they affect our classes.
Before starting the Spanish course, students must take a level test consisting of a written part (multiple choice questions plus a little essay) and an oral part. After its correction and a short conversation with one of our teachers, the student will be assigned to the adequate level.
This test is free of charge and always takes place outside the course schedules. It may be taken in the previous week, if the student is already in Valencia. If not, the test will take place the same day of the beginning of the course before the class starts (usually at 8:45 am).
The teaching material of Intensive Course 20, consisting of manuals and complementary sheets, is carefully prepared, designed and updated by our teachers.
The didactic material of the Private Lessons will vary according to the contents and needs of each student and may consist of manuals, dossiers or complementary material, all carefully elaborated, designed and selected by our teaching staff to meet the needs of each student.
In order to be able to prepare the specific contents of the private classes in time, it is important that before the start of the course the student contacts the school to inform them about the content and structure of the test to be taken.
All course material is included in the price.
If you encounter any difficulties during the course, the school has a teacher-tutor at your disposal to guide you and help you solve any doubts. This service is free of charge.
In general, these tutorials take place from Tuesday to Friday, from 1.30 pm to 2 pm or from 3.30 pm to 4 pm. You can ask your teacher of the Preparation Courses for the DELE Exam to apply for this service.
At the end of the language stay, students will receive a certificate of attendance stating the level and type of course completed, the total hours spent during the stay (divided into teaching hours, hours of autonomous work and participation in socio-cultural activities) and the contents studied during the course.
In order to guarantee that each student is at the level that corresponds to hi/her and to avoid forming groups of students with different knowledge of Spanish, the following time reduction will be applied to the Intensive Course 20 if the minimum number of four students per group is not reached, maintaining the original price:
- In the case that the course is made up of only 3 students, the teaching load will be reduced to 3 daily sessions of 50 minutes.
- If only 1-2 student participates in the Intensive Course, the teaching load will be reduced to 2 sessions of 50 minutes per day.
Apart from our Spanish language courses, we also offer up to four extra-curricular activities per week. Participating in these activities allows students to put into practice the skills they have learnt in the classroom in an effortless and fun way. On the other hand, it is also a unique opportunity to get to know Valencia’s culture and people first-hand. We refer you to our updated program of free-time activities.
The sociocultural modules consist of conferences, debates, talks and usually include a visit to some touristic sites, such as museums or monuments. They last approximately 5 hours a week. The topics addressed (festivals, Spanish politics, gastronomy) put students in contact with a rich variety of aspects of Spanish and Valencian life.
